Beauty Therapist
Level 2
Duration: Typically, 15 months (this does not include EPA period)
A Beauty therapist works in one of the largest, trusted, professional and continually expanding industries within the Hair and Beauty Sector. The work environment can be varied in size, style and ambiance, from a cruise ship, through to small bespoke salons or luxury high end beauty salons and spas.
A Beauty Therapist works independently or as part of a team supported by a manager when completing treatments as a key part of a beauty business. They demonstrate a willingness to learn, have an enquiring and curious mind and are enthusiastic to learn about their chosen career. In addition, they exhibit a good work ethic applied to learning, drive and commitment to learn and maintain continual professional development.
They deliver essential one-to-one Beauty Therapy treatments whilst maintaining the organisationâs image, financial viability and reputation. They complete all duties and treatments within the scope of the occupational role in accordance with legal, industry and organisational requirements within commercially viable times. They act with professionalism, without supervision and observe safe working practices to a high level of precision.
Assessment
The apprentice must achieve the following on-programme assessment requirements prior to Gateway:
English and Maths at Level 1
Attempts at Level 2 English and Maths by sitting Functional Skills tests
A completed Portfolio of Evidence

Hairdressing Professional
Level 2
Duration: Typically, 24 months (this does not include EPA period)
A Hairdressing Professional works in one of the largest, trusted, professional and continually expanding industries within the Hair and Beauty Sector. The work environment can be varied in size, style and ambiance, from a cruise ship, through to small bespoke salons or luxury high end salons, and even Some Spaâs.
A Hairdresser works independently or as part of a team supported by a manager when completing services as a key part of a Hairdressing business. They demonstrate a willingness to learn, have an enquiring and curious mind and are enthusiastic to learn about their chosen career. In addition, they exhibit a good work ethic applied to learning, drive and commitment to learn and maintain continual professional development.

Nail Services Technician
Level 2
Duration: Typically, 12 months (this does not include EPA period)
A Nail services technician offers a range of services for customersâ/clientsâ nails. They complete all duties and treatments within the scope of the occupation.
A Nail services technician works independently or as part of a team, supported by a salon/nail bar manager. They demonstrate a willingness to learn, have an enquiring and curious mind and are enthusiastic to learn about their chosen career. In addition they exhibit a good work ethic applied to learning, drive and commitment to learn and maintain continual professional development.
They complete nail services on a one-to-one basis with individual customers/clients within commercial timings. The occupation is fast-paced and customer-focused, providing a range of bespoke nail services, advice and product recommendations whilst meeting legal, industry and organisational requirements and codes of practice. The work environment can be varied in size, style and ambience, from a cruise ship, through to small nail bars or stations, retail environments or luxury high end beauty salons or spas.

Beauty and Makeup Consultant
Level 2
Duration: Typically, 12 months (this does not include EPA period)
A Beauty and make-up consultant typically works in a department store, or other retail environment; they use their knowledge to demonstrate, promote and recommend the use, benefits and application of a range of retail beauty products, covering: make-up, skin care, nail care and perfumery. They do this in accordance with legal requirements, brand guidelines, pricing and promotional structures and organisational protocols.
They work as part of a team, as well as independently, supported by a department or counter manager, to provide exceptional, bespoke customer service and care in a fast-paced retail environment, whilst achieving sales and profit targets.
They have drive, a good work ethic, an enquiring and curious mind and are enthusiastic to learn about their chosen career and maintain continual professional development.

Advanced Beauty Therapist
Level 3
Duration: Typically, 18 months (this does not include EPA period)
This occupation is found in a number of sector environments, varying in size style and ambiance. An advanced beauty therapist can be employed within the beauty industry, travel, leisure and health sectors, in a variety of salons, spas and aesthetic environments.
The broad purpose of this occupation is to provide, design and implement bespoke treatment plans. These advanced treatments range from advanced manual therapies such as advanced massage techniques, technical therapies such as face and body electrical treatments, to meet and manage client needs and expectations. They implement organisational operations (salon business systems and processes, data protection) to comply with legal and regulatory requirements, contribute to financial the effectiveness of the business, maintaining and maximising resources, (people, equipment and consumables).
In their daily work, an employee in this occupation interacts with a number of internal (e.g. other members of staff) and external (e.g. product brand, manufacturer representatives and other professionals) individuals, building exemplary relationships based on trust with clients, colleagues and organisations.
An employee in this occupation will be responsible for working independently delivering treatments in a private, secure and safe environment. An advanced beauty therapist will also when required, supervise others to support team and business growth.

Wellbeing and Holistic Therapist
Level 3
Duration: Typically, 20 months (this does not include EPA period)
This occupation is found in wellbeing environments; Spa, Leisure, Holistic or Wellness Therapy centres, Medi-spas and Beauty salons, although these environments are expanding due to the continuing demand for lifestyle wellness including para medical, health care environments and businesses implementing wellbeing corporate responsibility. The broad purpose of the occupation is to create, implement and adapt tailored holistic and wellbeing experiences, in a variety of environments, meeting and managing treatment and experience outcomes in private, secure and safe environments.
Wellbeing and Holistic therapists complete treatments and wellbeing experiences via holistic therapy principles, theories and applications to calm or stimulate the sensory perceptions of the body and mind in the pursuit of optimal functioning and balance of the physical, emotional and mental aspects of daily life. This results in a dynamic state of equilibrium and wellbeing for the client. Wellbeing therapists deliver specific treatments such as; aromatherapy, acupressure (manual digit pressure massage applied by the hands to specific points on the face or body) and holistic massage (therapeutic hands-on massage therapy that affects the clients physical, emotional and mental wellbeing), Indian head massage, lymphatic drainage and wellness experiences. They provide post treatment aftercare and make future recommendations.
They contribute to the commercial viability and effectiveness of the business to enhance the client experience. In their daily work, an employee in this occupation interacts with other health and non-health care practitioners including therapists such as beauty, spa, wellbeing and holistic as part of multi-disciplinary teams and sometimes and clinical specialists. An employee in this occupation will be responsible for the time management of the treatments and wellbeing experiences they deliver, the safety and wellbeing of themselves and the clients. They can work as individuals or as part of diverse teams to provide a wellbeing offering to clients, reporting to a manager or lead practitioner if part of a multi-disciplinary team.

How we deliver apprenticeships
Every Apprentice will be allocated a trainer/assessor who will support and train them throughout the apprenticeship journey. The trainer will become the first point of contact who will put in place an individual learning plan. This is bespoke to each learner considering the learners needs and capabilities. The trainer will lead on the training and liaise with the employer. Training can be held at our fully equipped centres. The trainer/assessor may also need to visit the apprentices workplace for assessments during the course of the apprenticeship programme.
End Point Assessment
End-point assessment widely known as the EPA, is the final stage of an apprenticeship. It is an impartial assessment of weather the apprentice has developed the skills, knowledge and behaviors outlined in the apprenticeship standard. As well as the EPA the apprentice may also need to complete several additional requirements prior to completion.
